Ekkehard ZWICKER

He received the M.Sc. with honors in 1994 at the Technical University of Karlsruhe in Mechanical Engineering and an Ph.D in 1998 at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. From 1998 on he continued as a Senior Researcher at the Center for Product Development at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. In parallel he founded and built up a spin-off company of ETHZ focusing on digital product design. In 2008 he joined Alstom Inspection Robotics focusing on the definition and execution of the strategy of Alstom Inspection Robotics.

Wolfgang ZESCH

He received the B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the College in Bregenz in 1988, the M.Sc. in 1994 in Mechanical Engineering at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and the Ph.D in the field of microrobotics in 1997 from the same institute. As a postdoc he conducted projects in handling of microparts as well as investigations on the adhesion of gecko feet in 1997 and 1998 at the University of California at Berkeley. From 1999 until 2006 he joined Zuhlke Engineering AG as a mechatronics engineer, focusing on system design, sensors and actuators and project management, while in parallel building up an optics group at Zuhlke. In 2007 he started Alstom Inspection Robotics Ltd and is now in the position of the CTO.
